The clutch actuator is an electro-hydraulic or electromechanical unit that automates clutch engagement and disengagement in vehicles fitted with automated manual transmissions (AMT), dual-clutch gearboxes (DSG/DCT), or robotised single-clutch systems. It replaces the conventional clutch pedal and concentric slave cylinder, responding to gearchange commands from the transmission control unit within milliseconds.
